Photo Contest Winners

It’s the moment that a least a handful of people were waiting for: after much deliberation and tie breaking votes, we are finally announcing the winners of the Tournoi du Faucon Noir photo contest. As a reminder the first place photographer will receive $100 and second place receives $50. However, due to the delay in announcement, it has been decided to add a years worth of inflation to the prize money, which is 2.3%. Therefore the actual prize allowance will be $102.30 and $51.15.

Regarding the first place photograph, the judges who voted for the piece explained the dynamic movement of the shot captured the excitement and challenge of the tournament. For the second place photograph, the judges appreciated the illustration of fraternity and serenity found within it.

We would like to thank all of our participants for showcasing their remarkable talent.

HAUKE 2021

The Hauke Swordplay Summit is excited to announce the 2021 dates for the future four day historical fencing and martial arts event. Mark your calendars for June 3 - 6, 2021!

Once again, the event will be located at The Abbey in Canon City, CO. You can expect to be immersed in a welcoming atmosphere focusing on HEMA studies and camaraderie. Scheduled activities will include the annual armored and unarmored tournament, Tournoi du Faucon Noir, engaging classes and lectures from a variety of specialists, free fencing in the fieldhouse, as well as prepared, historically themed challenges to take on during the weekend. Each evening will be an opportunity to participate in discussions alongside new and old friends while sharing food and drink. This includes signing up for Friday’s wine tasting at The Abbey.

It is with deepest regrets that we announce our decision to cancel the Hauke Swordplay Summit for 2020. Due to the current pandemic sweeping the country, we feel that this decision is in the best interest of the health and well being of our instructors and participants.
